Bookkeeping for online sellers

Amazon Seller Accountants and Bookkeepers

Amazon settlements can combine sales, refunds, referral fees, fulfillment charges, and reserve movements. Choose a firm that can explain the settlement and match the amount deposited to your bank.

Services checked against firm websites on October 8, 2026. Confirm availability, fees, and service region with each firm. Inclusion does not certify a firm or establish a Taxomate partnership.

Ask for a settlement walkthrough

A settlement contains $1,000 in sales, $100 in refunds, $150 in fees, and a $50 reserve hold. The deposit is $700. Ask the firm to show where the retained $50 remains in the books, instead of treating it as an expense.

  • How do you reconcile a settlement when Amazon holds or releases reserves?
  • How do you separate referral, fulfillment, storage, and advertising charges?
  • How do you handle settlements that cross a month end?
  • Who maintains inventory and cost of goods sold outside the payout workflow?

These are simplified discussion examples. Your settlement reports and accounting policy determine the actual entries.

Check fit before you hire

Ask whether the proposal includes monthly reconciliation, cleanup, tax filings, and inventory work. Confirm your accounting system and the integration the firm uses. A firm's marketplace experience does not mean it uses Taxomate.

Keep the account in your business's name. Agree on access, review dates, deliverables, and how unresolved payout differences will be handled.
