Walmart to Wave: one summarized entry for each deposit
Walmart pays you in batches. Each deposit mixes sales, fees, refunds, and taxes, so it rarely matches your Wave books on its own. Walmart reports each settlement period in a reconciliation report. Taxomate reads that report and groups it into categories. Taxomate imports the Walmart settlement and posts one summarized entry to Wave that matches the bank deposit. You skip the spreadsheet.
Before and after
68 Walmart transactions become one Wave entry.
Every order adds its own sale, fee and shipping lines to the Walmart settlement. Taxomate adds them up by category, so Wave gets one entry with the same total as the bank deposit.

Setup
How to connect Walmart to Wave
- 01
Connect Walmart
Connect your Walmart Marketplace account. You approve access in Walmart, or you enter your API credentials. Taxomate then downloads your reconciliation reports.
- 02
Connect Wave
Connect Wave. You approve access in Wave and select the business to use. Wave requires an active Wave Pro plan or Wave Advisors package for third-party API connections such as Taxomate.
- 03
Set your account mappings
Run Quick Setup to create default accounts and sales items in Wave, or pick ones you already have. Then check the account for each category. You can change any mapping later. Taxomate does not post until the required mappings are set.
- 04
Review a Walmart settlement
Open a Walmart settlement in Taxomate. It shows sales, refunds, commission, fees, shipping, and tax grouped by category, with the settlement total.
- 05
Post to Wave
Post the settlement. Taxomate creates a summarized invoice in Wave as a draft, then approves it. A negative amount is marked as sent. Wave limits an invoice to 300 line items, so a large settlement can post as more than one invoice. If posting fails, Taxomate deletes the invoices it created. You can also turn on auto-post.
- 06
Reconcile with your bank deposit
Compare the posted invoice to the bank deposit. Taxomate does not create the bank deposit in Wave.
Posting
What Taxomate posts to Wave
Taxomate groups each settlement by category and posts the totals to the Wave accounts you map. The list shows the categories.
Each category posts to the Wave account you map:
- Sales
- Shipping
- Gift wrap revenue
- Refunds
- Commission
- Fees, including Walmart Fulfillment Services fees
- Advertising
- Adjustments
- Sales tax collected
- Sales tax remitted
- Instant transfer
- Reserved and carried balances
Good to know
- Taxomate posts to Wave as invoices. It does not create journal entries or bank deposits in Wave.
- Each line on the invoice uses a Wave sales item, so each category needs a mapped account and sales item.
- Every mapping is yours to change.
Questions before you connect Walmart to Wave
Short answers on how a payout-based workflow handles Walmart deposits in Wave.
How do I connect Walmart to Wave without rebuilding payout spreadsheets?
Start with the Walmart settlement, import the related sales, fees, refunds, taxes, and adjustments, then review the summarized Wave entry before posting.
Can a Walmart Wave integration help reconcile deposits in Wave?
Yes, if the workflow uses the payout as the control total and posts a summarized entry that can be matched against the bank deposit in Wave.
What should I test first in a Walmart to Wave trial?
Use one recent Walmart settlement as the activation test. The workflow is ready to scale when the first import, first successful post, and bank reconciliation all line up.
Before you import history
Prove the Walmart to Wave workflow with one real payout
Before you commit to any Walmart Wave integration, use one representative Walmart settlement to confirm the import, accounting post, and bank reconciliation path.
- 1 Import one recent Walmart settlement instead of starting with months of history.
- 2 Review sales, fees, refunds, taxes, and deposit matching before posting to Wave.
- 3 Confirm the first successful post in Wave reconciles to the bank deposit.
Reconciliation playbook
Walmart Wave payout reconciliation playbook
A useful Walmart to Wave integration has to do more than move orders. It should turn payout activity into accounting entries that explain the bank deposit without manual cleanup.
- Start from the payout
- Import the Walmart settlement that actually lands in the bank, then summarize the related sales, fees, refunds, tax, and adjustments around that deposit.
- Post cleanly to Wave
- Review the proposed Wave entry before posting so the sales, fees, refunds, tax, and clearing accounts match the way you close the books.
- Prove it before backfilling
- Use one recent payout as the activation test. The workflow is working when the first successful post matches the payout and reconciles to the bank feed.
Activation checklist
- The Walmart settlement imports successfully.
- The Wave posting summary separates sales, fees, refunds, and tax.
- The posted total reconciles to the bank deposit before historical imports begin.
What the Walmart Wave integration replaces
Without an integration, every Walmart payout means copying a report into Wave line by line and checking that the total matches the bank deposit. Taxomate does that step for you, the same way each time.
- Less manual entry
- Taxomate turns each Walmart payout into one summarized entry in Wave, so you match one entry to each deposit instead of copying payout reports by hand.
- See where the money went
- Sales, fees, refunds, shipping and tax post to the accounts you map, so your profit and loss report shows each one. Taxomate can also send summarized cost of goods sold (COGS) entries.
- One summary per payout
- Each summary breaks the payout down into sales, refunds and fees, and its total equals the deposit. You can review it before it posts.
Benefits

See all integrations →-
No payout spreadsheets. Taxomate imports each Walmart payout for you, so you do not rebuild it from reports in a spreadsheet.
-
The same mappings every time. Every payout posts with the account mappings you set, so each fee and tax type lands in the same account each month.
-
Books that stay current. Turn on auto-post and new payouts post after their deposit date, without a manual step.

Tax kept separate. Tax collected on Walmart sales posts to its own account, separate from sales. Taxomate records the amounts; filing and tax advice stay with you or your accountant.
